Started apprenticeship with Essex County Council in their piano workshop, which serviced the school piano

Qualified with Parts I and II of the City and Guilds in Pianoforte Tuning and Toning, Pianoforte Repairs and Reconditioning

Employed as a full time lecturer in the Piano tuning department of the Royal National College for the Blind in Hereford

1980
|
Passed the stringent exam for the Pianoforte Tuner Association – a practical test of tuning and repairing ability. Also tests one’s knowledge and understanding of the piano

Gained the AEWVH teaching qualification in tuning and repairs
|
1993

Began teaching part time and building up self employed tuning business
